Dating of events
Dating of events always uses time range between two dates: “not earlier than [date]” – “not later than [date]”. If a source gives a precise date, both dates in the time range are the same. If a source refers to any longer period (e.g. month, term, year etc.), the date of the first day of the relevant period (month/term/year) and the date of the last day of the period are used respectively.
Dating of academic year is based on the statutes of Kraków University, even though, actually, many deviations from this rule happened.
- the beginning of summer term: April 23
- the end of summer term: October 15
- the beginning of winter term: October 16
- the end of winter term: April 22
- the beginning of academic year: October 16
- the end of academic year: October 15
Dating of months, seasons of the year, year, century etc. is standardised, and is consistent with current calendar system (Gregorian calendar).
