Corpus academicum Cracoviense (CAC) database collects historical data on academic community of the University of Kraków from 1364 to 1780. It includes a group of students, graduates, university professors and other people associated with the university. Their lives are more than just a part of the history of the University of Kraków – the oldest higher education institution in Poland. These are also stories of educated individuals from various backgrounds: the clergy, burghers, nobility and peasants, belonging to the intellectual and cultural elites or forming a group of professionals of the written word in their homelands.
The database is a result of a research project developed in 2013–2018 at the Faculty of History of the Jagiellonian University, Kraków, with the technical support offered by AGH University of Science and Technology, Kraków.
The CAC research project was funded by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education within the framework of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities in the years 2013–2018 (11H 12 0264 81).
